Samsung and iPhone have been ultimate rivalries for years now and since the iPhone 8 has been released it's started all over again. After all its only fair to compare the worlds finest brands. Design The overall design of the Samsung S8 just seems so much more advanced, it feels and looks like you are holding something from the future and that's exactly what it is. With it's metal and glass curved casing it is beautiful and sleek which stands out because of its glossy clean finish. Its screen is seamless with no buttons and an almost edgeless screen allowing nothing to distract you from that 5.9 inch super AMOLED HD display compared to the iPhone's 4.7 inch Retina display. Although the iPhone 8 isn't too bad itself, it may not have a curved screen but is elegant in it's simplicity. Both phones have fingerprint sensors but iPhone's is right there at the bottom of the screen where its always been not like the Samsung's where have to first search for it at the back of the phone next to the camera and then you still have to stretch your hand behind the enormous phone to reach it, it just inconvenient. At least the S8 has facial recognition to make up for it. Battery & ProcessorSamsung is no match for iPhones new A11 Bionic chipset which is not only the same processor as in the iPhoneX but is also the chip that beats all Samsung processors on the market. The S8 is still fast running a Qualcomm snapdragon 835 which does everything it needs to. Both phones had almost Identical battery lives and able to be used for 5 hours and 45 minutes intensely. Display There's no doubt that the S8 is leaps and bonds ahead in terms of its display. The super AMOLED display is packed with an incredibly high resolution of 570ppi with is enhanced with bright saturated colours. Images on this phone seem shape and dense from all angles leaving a crisp impression. iPhones display hasn't really change since the iPhone 6S which still has a Retina HD display giving a 326ppi resolution or pixel density. iPhone has although added Colour gamut and True Tone which make colours warm and provide better contrast as well as iPhones iconic 3D touch which has been around since the iPhone 6S. Camera The iPhone 8 provides a 12MP camera which offers optical image stabilization and quad LED True tone flash and the 8+ even come with a second sensor. In general the iPhone 8 camera has proven to be a great camera and very similar to the iPhone 7's.
Samsung's camera on the other hand is spectacular and amongst the best ever tested. it also provides a 12MP camera but is so incredibly crisp and true especially in low light photographs capturing what no other Phone camera has before. |
